Before launching her own business, Angie Roberts spent nearly 10 years exclusively in health care marketing. Here’s a list of her significant accomplishments in this arena:
Rehabilitation
Hospital of Indiana, Indianapolis
As the first dedicated salesperson (1997-99) for this hospital’s outpatient
services, developed and implemented marketing plan that increased referrals
from local physician offices. Presented in-services to physicians and staff,
wrote and designed collateral and coordinated special events. * Was also promoted
to business development coordinator as a result of efforts.
As consultant (2000), developed and assisted in implementing marketing plan for successful opening of new outpatient therapy satellite. Also coordinated research study of Indiana workers compensation insurance providers.
Cummins
Mental Health Center, Danville, Indiana
As the first marketing director (1996-97) for this community mental health center,
developed marketing and public relations program from the ground up. Created
and edited referral, employee and community newsletters; spearheaded advertising
campaign aimed at the “working well” population; oversaw media relations;
and directed issues management. * Served on management task force to develop
major changes in financial policy and coordinated plan to communicate changes
to clients and stakeholders. These efforts resulted in a minimal loss of clients,
as measured by dropout statistics.
St.
Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville, Indiana
As community educator (1995-96) for new mental health service line, directed
educational and marketing campaign for potential patients, their families and
referral sources. Developed and edited referral newsletter and patient education
materials, coordinated mental health screenings, oversaw media relations and
gave presentations to nursing homes and community groups.
Reid
Hospital & Health Care Services, Richmond, Indiana
As community relations specialist (1990-95), promoted cardiology, home health,
occupational health, outpatient surgery, pediatrics and mental health product
lines. Researched and developed marketing plans, edited physician newsletter,
served as a liaison with local media and coordinated special events and education
programs. * Assisted in creation of an annual themed family educational event,
the Kids Health Safari, which used screenings and hands-on learning to teach
healthy habits. The event generated significant media coverage, exceeded attendance
goals and resulted in changed behaviors by a majority of attendees (as measured
by a follow-up survey).
